If you haven't been following this saga, please consult previous postings on
the topics "S900 OSX install Help!" and "S900 OSX install ... More Qs."

Following Will S's advice, I am attempting to install OS 10.0.3 using an
earlier version of XPF (XPostFacto2.2b7).

However, I can't get past the black screen with the message:

"NVRAM string value is too big can't open can't open can't open"

In another OT, Jeff Walther once discussed possible NVRAM corruption and
suggested that battery removal and CUDA reset were the necessary steps to
fix it.

Done that. And it doesn't help. So, I cannot even use XPF now, and don't
even know whether the root device problem is taken care of by using an early
version of XPF.

Why am I experiencing problems that few others seem to experience? Is there
something wrong with my MB? What now?
