I am posting not to report a problem, but to report a success. I just today installed OS X on my daughter's S900, using XPostFacto 2.2b7.
I had tried this months ago and - for reasons I am still unclear on - it led to a black screen and the S900 being down for weeks. So, I was more than a little hesitant to retry. But the many stories of successful installs you good folks have relayed gave me courage to jump in and try again. I guess the main lesson I learned was that one has to be very patient with the reboot after the install. It did take what seemed like an inordinately long time for the black screen to give way to a booting OS X. There were a few minor glitches along the way, but all in all the install and subsequent updates progressed smoothly through OS 10.1 to OS 10.1.5 with the latest updates. I know I am behind the curve compared to some of you who have already got 10.2 going on a UMAX. But for a timid experimenter like myself, getting this far feels really good. My daughter is delighted with OS X. I am posting just to let others who might be a cautious as me know that the OS X install *can* be pretty easy.
