We don't yet know if this is a bug or feature of QT 6 ;-)

The work around is to keep a copy of the Quicktime 5 player for just
this use! It has the added benefit of since it's using the newer
Quicktime ex's doing all that QT 6 does plus still has the mpeg edit
features! It is possible to download QT 5 from Apple install and save
a copy of QT player then re-install QT 6.
I also keep a copy of QT 4.x as it plays all.movie files including
ones that 5 & 6 need to do a conversion on before opening. I keep
them in a folder called QT players. If they are kept in a Qucktime
folder it confuses the machine as to which one to use to open files
with. Will S
