iTunes 2.0.4 should work wonderfully. You need to search a little to 
get it. Go to <www.apple.com/support> and do a search for 'itunes 2' 
(no quotes). I should show up. iTunes 3 is now out, that only works 
with OSX at this time though. Since Apple has stopped development os 
OS9 chances are it will never work with OS9.

iTunes is for playing MP3 or mp3 radio streams. You can also encode 
your music CDs with it. As for downloading music, you would need to use 
a program like LimeWire or its ilk.

You should have no problem here. My 313MHz was able to just fine, 
although a page here and there took an extra second or two to load

You may also want to check out some of the other players as well. 
Unsanity Echo <www.unsanity.com>, Audion <www.panic.com>, MacAMP 
<www.macamp.com>.  I'm rather fond of iTunes and MacAMP. Out of the 
group, iTunes is the only 'free' player though.
