Just so you know OS 9.1 is a free download from Apple if you already have OS 9.04. ( I seem to remember it being a 71mb download but wouldn't make any bets on that figure ;-) I like OS 9.04 so much that I have been running it as my main OS for over 2 years. The longest for any OS.I do have OS 9.1 for Classic in OSX but don't use it much. OS 9.1 changes the file and folder system so that everything is in just a handful of folders. I hate this idea but it makes things simpler for classic. It seems to run just fine but I've not had any reason yet to go to 9.1 Perhaps others can tell us why one would want to upgrade to OS 9.1 OSX Jaguar 10.2 runs great on our Umax J700/S900 machines. You do need more ram and Cpu speed then in OS9.x. I'd guess in the neighborhood of maybe 200mb of ram and a G3/4 at say 450mhz or better and your good to go otherwise it's going to be much slower then OS9.xc It will run with say 128mb of ram but when you boot classic you are running 2 OS's at the same time which is a big reason why OSX is a ram hog. Pre Jaguar even runs with 603 and 604 cpu's but it's got to be slow. later Will S PS If and when I clear my larger ATA drive so I can put Jaguar on it...I will likely be going with OSX as my main OS and yes on my J700! -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
