Well Tim... personally...
My S900 is similar but for the 500 mb Quantum. I sliced my 9.1 gig IBM in
half and put X on one of those two partitions. It's my biggest SCSI drive
and it's, by far, my newest SCSI device too. So I have 3 volumes appearing
on my desktop, the partitioned 9 gig IBM, and an unpartitioned 4.3 gig IBM.

But what I did before deciding, was, I ran Norton Benchmark on my SCSI
drives. My 4.3 gig IBM proved fastest, and thus carries OS 9 and all the
associated classic files. The IBM 9 gig wasn't much slower but I chose it to
run X, since I felt that OS 9 was the more prominent environment and would
be the main operating system for a while longer. I wanted to eke out every
bit of speed I could for OS 9. It's a silly venture in a way, but it's fun
to nitpick. Kinda like tuning a carburetor on a classic car I guess. The
differences are so minimal as to actually be insignificant usually, but I
like pretending my decisions made a difference. -snicker-

That's a damned shame. It would be the best choice performance-wise,
usually, for both OS X, and OS 9. But, then again, reliability is key.

Once you get it set the way you want it, you'll love Jaguar,
all the best,
