So thanks to this list the poor, h4x0red J700 is running smoothly again. For now... Thanks Bolton To which I add, Go for it Bolton, All six PCI slots, all drive bays, and all eight Memory slots are full on my S900D. Ramometer shows 1.1GB Ram. I ran over 4000 iterations over ~36 hours with no faults whatsoever. S900D, Sonnet G4-450, MacOS 9.1 (Still fiddling with Jaguar.), SIIG PCI EIDE controller, Orange Micro UW SCSI controller, ATI RagePro Video, KeyspanUSB, Adaptec FW Care, and a 10/100 ethernet card. (The preceding in no particular order, I'm not looking at the box.) Drives include Ultraplex 32x CDRom, a 2GB removable HD, a SyJet 1.5GB removable, a 1.3 GB Fujitsu MO, a 60GB Seagate EIDE internal. The FW card is driving a Que M3 external FW; the USB card is driving an HP USB printer and SIIG CP Flash Card reader. I 'was' sharing a USB KB & WheelMouse with a PC using a USB KVM switch, but have temporarily gone to ADB to facilitate Jaguar installs. Interestingly, the CF reader is working in Jaguar AND MacOS 9.1 without any drivers. The ADB Logitech Wheel mouse works in Jaguar w/o drivers (including wheel scrolling and right clicking). The SyJet (and the CDReaders) require bootable media at boot time for MacOS 9.1. Probably the MO does as well; I'm still early in the test phase. I do recall that a list member was having problems with all ram slots full of Velocity 128MB sticks. My memory is the $26 OWC 128MB FPM that I ordered last week. Eight sticks received in two separate orders of four each, and all have tested good. I did order the FPM instead of the EDO, but I don't think that really matters on S900/J700. (I know, I know, some people disagree, but it works for me.) Keep at it . . . -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
