Hi All.
If I can back up all my stuff from my Maxtor HD that has OSX 10.1.5 on
it to CDS can I reformat the drive into a number of partitions and then
put if everything back on it and still have a working OSX 10.1.5? I
bought an external firewire drive and was thinking I could use it to do
a back up. However, when I set up the firewire drive booted into 9.1 and
copied everything on to it something strange happened. When I booted
back into OSX using the xpost it booted but then the little ball just
kept spinning so I had to shut it down manually. By the way I was not
trying to boot from the firewire drive. Then when I went to reboot 9.1
showed up fine and all the firewire partitions but the Maxtor with OSX
did not show up on the desktop at all. I could not even find the drive
with disk utilities and it did not show up in the profile. Has anyone
else had this problem? What I did was shut down, remove the firewire
drive, remove the battery and let it sit overnight. This morning I put
the battery back in booted up without the firewire drive connected and
everything seems good again. I just don't want to go through the whole
re-installation of OSX again.
                           Many Thanks
                                  Jacqueline Stewart
