You maybe able to save money by buying a Cable modem. They are a lot cheaper then they were and you usually get a discount on service. I get a $10.00 a month discount but it's going down to $3.00 a month the first of the year. Most Cable internet companies will have a web page with a list of approved brands. I'm on ATTBI.com and they have a web page with info. Nearly all the brands currently available are listed as approved. You can also call your company for the info if it's not on a web page. You don't want to get stuck with a brand that can't be used. Like I said the larger companies(are there any small broadband companies still in business ?) seem to use all brands sold these days. Surfboard/Motorola used to be considered the best and sold for $200.00. It came down in price last fall and there are other brands sold at discount as well.I paid $125.00 for mine and they maybe on sale for less now. i've never had any problems with it. I know many of the RCA were defective when first sold but that has now been fixed with new models. I hope this helps. Will S -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
