PS. At first all cable modems were Ethernet some are now Ethernet and USB. Someone told me that USB modems don't work on Macs as there are no drivers for them. Don't know for sure about that but my Surfboard Ethernet/USB only has drivers for Windows. Ethernet doesn't require any extras drivers for cable modem . So if there are USB only cable modems they may not work on a MAC. Oh ya you will need an Ethernet card for your C500 if you don't yet have one. S900/J700 come with built in Ethernet.
