You didn't mention in your updated post the status of your PCI USB/Firewire combo card. Is it running in one of the first two slots? I'd remove it entirely and see if the crashes stop. You could have memory problems and should follow the testing advice- a topic well covered in the archives. Are all the drivers for your add on PCI cards up to date? Instead of trying to solve problems with a full computer, try removing the peripheral cards, installing the G4, then add one card at a time ans see how stable the system is. Your original post listed too many variables to pin down which was the cause of your problems. Start by building a minimal system that is stable. Paul
