Hello again Charles,

The largest DIMM is 128mb and the maximum is 1.01gb, 8 128s for
example. There have been long arguments about EDO vs FPM. Some of the
others may give you a better idea on the consensus of opinion. I had
a setup similar to yours that included 2 tall 128s that I got from
Newer Technologies when I bought the machine new. These are FPM RAM.
When I purchased 6 more 128 sticks from Velocity Upgrades, I believe,
last year I as well as everyone else was having problems with "bad"
RAM which the supplier replaced (kept replacing). After going thru
several exchanges the supplier's tech asked me what I was using and
matched my FPM. I tested them and have been running without bad RAM
symptoms. In regard to the Sonnet G3/400 processor, have you ever
updated the software. The most current v2.0.1, can be found on their
site http://www.sonnettech.com/downloads/proc_upgrds_sw.html#ce or
via VersionTracker. Upgrading may help. If you can get your hands on
the previous upgrade-v2.0 that might be better. I think there might
be some issues with 2.0.1. You might find 2.0 on Sonnet's site. I've
been using 2.0. Hope this helps.
