Hi there....Im having some problems with my system right now....been a while since last I posted on this mailing list...but here is the story....
Had an 45 GB external Firewire HD stop working on me.....the PCI card is an OrangeMicro Firewire/USB combo card.....things ran fine, I have the 45 GB firewire drive, a 160GB Firewire drive, as well as a USB Wacom tablet all connected together with no problems. The other day I had to move my entire setup to another part of my house. During that transition, although nothing was dropped, and was moved carefully, all of a sudden, my 45 gigger was not mounting on the desktop....160 gigger still was. I thought maybe my drive died and I lost everything, but luckily it was just the external casing. I swapped the drive into the 160 gigger case, and it worked again. So thats how I figured out the case died even though the lights and fan still worked. So, I rush ordered a Sonnet Tempo ATA 100/133 PCI card so I can install that drive internally on my S900. I installed the card, hooked up the drive internally, and fired up my S900.....well, no drive ever mounted....and now, my external Firewire 160 gigger isnt mounting as well. The Firewire card is installed in the 5th slot, while the ATA card is in the 3rd slot....with my ATI Radeon is in the 2nd slot, and of course, the E100 SCSI card is in the first slot.....had the ATA card in the 4th slot and that didnt work either. Any suggestions for what I should do now??? I know S900's had that PCI bridge to bridge controller or whatever thats caused problems with placement of PCi cards.....where should I put the ATA Tempo card to make everything work again??? Any other ideas as to why this is not working maybe??? Thanks Nick Bolovinos -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
