To put OS 10.2 jaguar on your S900 you need to use a program called
XpostFacto v.2.2.4. This is a free download from
<http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/
framework.cfm?page=XPostFacto.html>. The instructions are at this site
and they also come with the download. You will need 2 partitions. The
first partition is for Jaguar and the 2nd is for OS 9.1

The XpostFacto v.2.2.4 works very well for the S900 to allow you to
install Jaguar. I have done this several times. The way that worked
well for me was to reformat the drive with the Apple OS 9.1 CD. I
believe your 3.24 GB disk is large enough. The author of the program,
Ryan Rempel writes that 1.5 GB for Jaguar is the minimum and 2 GB is
better.

The instructions will also tell how to get the software to see the
floppy drive and to speed up your Sonnet card. This is separate
software that you use after Jaguar is installed. This page has the
L2CacheConfig 3.3 program:
framework.cfm?page=L2CacheConfig.html>.

  Here are the steps:
Backup the data on the hard drive
Reformat the hard drive into 2 partitions using the Drive Setup program
on the Apple OS 9.1 CD (in Utilities folder)
Set the first partition to 2 GB
Install OS 9.1 in the other partition. You can also install your system
folder that you used before that has all the settings for your programs.
Install the XPF program and make sure you understand the directions and
follow them exactly.
Then you use disc 1 of Jaguar and allow it to mount on the desktop. You
can close the Jaguar window and open the XPF. There are 2 windows and
you adjust the top window to read install OS X from CD and the lower
window you set to install OS X in the first partition.

XPF will start the install and if all goes well you will be asked to
put the second disk in to complete the installation. This is just a
summary of the steps you will need. Make sure you have a enough time.
If it goes OK, it should be done in 2 hours or less. If you have
problems, let us know. Good luck.
Eric
