[EMAIL PROTECTED] asked:
<< I have a umax s900 and was wondering if the IBM DGHS-04Z Hard Drive will
work for my computer. Does anyone know if there is a special pin config. that
I need to know about or is the preset fine? >>

I checked this at the IBM site, and it lists it as:
Ultrastar-4LP
Ultra-Narrow SCSI
4560mb (I assume this is 4.5gig)
7200rpm

Does it have a 50-pin connector? I _think_ this is what the internal bus is on
the s900 (and I even _have_ an s900, but have never counted!).

You will want to make sure that the SCSI address is properly set (by jumpers),
and that termination is properly set.

If Apple's "Drive Setup" doesn't "recognize" the drive when you turn
everything on (use SCSI Probe to check the bus to make sure the drive is "on
the bus", even if it doesn't "show up" on the desktop), it is possible to use
a "customized" version of Drive Setup to initialize the drive (email me privately).
