Hello,
I have an S900 that recently crashed bad. I finally had to reformat the boot
drive. Now the internal Cd-rom say it doesn't have a driver. I can see an
Apple CD/DVD driver in the extension panel. Do I need another driver. I
looked on the Matshita site but all they had was PC drivers.
I did my best to back up the software to an external FW CD burner as the
S900 was taking its final gasping breaths but now Retrospect Express 4.1
(which worked fine before) won't recognize the external burner. The Mac OS
does however recognize the external FW CD burner.
The S900 seems to be much more stable since the reformatting but I really
need one of the CD players to work to restore my backed up software.
Any help would be great.
I have S900 with XLR8 Mach Carrier Zif w/OWC Mercery G3/500
448 MB RAM
Mac OS 9.1
XLR8 FW card
External FW Yamaha CRW2100SZ CD burner
Internal SCSI Matshita CD-ROM CR506 rev#8505
Retrospect Express 4.1 w/driver update 1.8
Thank you
Alan
