Likely the reason you see a speed increase with the Sonnet OSX Tune-up
that you didn't with Ryan's L2 Cache control. Ryan's L2 CC does not
disable the motherboard cache on The Umax S900/J700 which makes a major
difference. XLR8's software no longer works after say OSX 10.03 or so
and no updates are coming Company is gone. Powerlogix Cache control is
great with Umax machines and likely all old World machines. It also
turns off the motherboard cache.
Sonnets OSX installer and cache control software of the past did not
work with XLR8 G3/4 upgrades. It crashed my machine when I tried
running it.
Eric...I have no plans to try it or any other Sonnet software in the
future. I've learned that lesson ;-) I do hear that Sonnet software
also works with Newer Tech upgrades. They did hire some of the Newer
Tech people when that company folded. It is now back but only a few
products so far. later Will S
