This is an entirely separate matter to my freezing problem.  The issue has
been addressed on the list in the past but I don't recall the specifics.

Is anybody actually using one of the newer 5400 RPM ATA100 Hard Drives in
their reasonably fast s900 or J700 and do you notice any drop in performance
from this slower rpm drive?  (As compared to a 7200rpm)

Such as the Seagate U Series, they can transfer data at 100 mbs and seek
time is about 8.9 ms.  I don't have one yet but the prices are good for even
60 GB.
