Got a reply from SuperMac's old Field Service Manager on this old display
that I could barely remember.  I was mostly right:

"It was a Hitachi of questionable quality.  Run away in a zig-zag
pattern so the flying parts don't hit you."

Old SuperMac displays arguably still worth looking for would be the
SuperMatch 20T XL and the SuperMatch High-Res 20 (which I'm still using
today).  They were actually the same monitor, but the latter would support
1320x1024.  The second PressView display (Mitsubishi-based -- "PressView
21T"?) was also excellent.
