It's been more than five years since I last went to a Dove auction of Apple products. However, way back then, it was common for the machines to go for very close to the current retail prices. I was always puzzled by this, but it was persistent enough I stopped going. Perhaps Shreve was submitting high proxy bids? With them gone, maybe the prices will be lower now.
