The UL2D is a dual channel card. I would not expect it to work properly in the lower slots, unless it is the only card in the lower slots--with a few exceptions. It has an edge connector for a 64 bit PCI slot, so it can't go in slot 1 either, because the E100 slot extender is in the way. So it can only go in slot 2. On the other hand, I have not tested the UL2D in the lower slots, so this card may be different from other dual channel cards, though that seems unlikely--but unlikely things happen all the time... I did some more testing last night, and the UL2D card worked fine in slot 2 when connected to single ended drives but I was using a G3 CPU for that test.
