Wohoo! Just wanted to let you know: my S900 is quiet now! Bought a "Enermax" fan for 17 Euro (sure you'll get it for $15 in US), and the really good thing is: it's adjustable, unlike the Pabst fan I was flirting with. At 1200rpm, you hear absolutely nothing, and that seems to be enough for normal usage. I ran the AltivecFractal demo 5 times, and the temperature was at 35 degrees C. (was 30 with the old fan and over 50 without). If you want to render a complex Cinema4D scene for some hours, you can set the fan to 2400, that's loud, but not louder than the old one. I'm really happy now!
