I've just upgraded my S900 from a G3/266 to a G4/400. I'm using an XLR8 carrier card and after talking to the tech guys at OWC I've ended up with four different possibilities for the switch settings on the card. The problem is that I've tried them all and still can't get things moving. I even tried re-installing the old G3/266 ZIF and I still couldn't get my machine to boot-up! The machine powers-up and the hard drive chatters for a few seconds... thats it. I tried a logic board reset and a pram-zap as well. Any suggestions?
I'm running both a SCSI drive (OS 9.1) and an ATA drive (Jaguar). All was well with both drives/systems (thanks, XPostFacto!) with the smaller ZIF, although things were a bit sluggish in OSX. Hence the upgrade. Eric <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
