With the case on it's side, and the screw loosened, the purchase 
points for sliding the case to the rear are the indentations in the 
flexible hooks at the rear of the lid.

Position the box on it's side, front against your body. Thumbs in the 
indentations, four fingers on the the sides around the rear of the 
case. Push in with the thumbs first and then and toward the rear with 
the thumbs and squeeze toward your body with the fingers.

The first time the lid is removed it is very tight, and the flex 
hooks are stiff. The more you do it the easier it gets.

Those with challanged hand grip strengh may need an extra set of 
hands or a "Charles Atlas" friend.

Ooops, I gave my age group away. But at 74, I can do it. Although the 
first time was a real challange.
