Sad because they make high quality drives and one of the few companies still making SCSI CDRW drives. I guess I'm not surprised they sell quality and can't compete with the $19.95 drive of the week specials. All the other companies are discounting big time to stay in business. But that can't go on forever and DVD drives will soon be replacing CDRW as the main market I would think. Good news is the firewire case I bought seems to not be nearly as picky about CDRW IDE drives as the ATA PCI cards are in our machines! The two drives i tried both worked fine in my J700 UMAX machine TDK 24x10x40 CDRW Pioneer A05/DVR 105 DVDr/RW CDRW = Apple Superdrive bought as the Cendyne DVR 105 for $159.00 at Staples office supply. both work well itunes, Toast, Missing Media Burner& Apple disk burner i was surprised about the TDK as it as listed as PC only and no iTunes files but works great in iTunes with OSX 10.2.3 At this point in time my small sampling would seem to show firewire as a good way to go for people having problems or buying new.
