You could be right I'd say 300mhz G3 is the min and faster is better. However in OSX you do have the opinion of turning the Quartz engine on which off loads more of the video off the CPU and on to the Video card. It is working well for me. Like I said there are no perfect solutions. Well ATI USA moved fast as I was thinking they might. All of the ATI 7000 software is no longer available as of this afternoon. I just got a report that the ATI 64 mb card also works fine. It is of course 1 vga port. I really want the Sapphire 64 mb but no luck so far.
