I have a Farallon 10/100 in mine that seemed to have no problems in X 
for the short time I ran it on that computer. I think the OS recognized 
it with no additional drivers needed in fact. We did have to turn off 
the internal port on the 7500 tho. The machine couldn't decide which one 
to use even when we specified it. Maybe that's why yours isn't working.
