No, this is fine. Many, many, many people have done this. There is one 
more option though, you can get a piece of software from 
<www.os9forever.com> called OS9Helper. It will let you install 9.2.1 
and 9.2.2 on older machines. I've been happily running it for months on 
my S900 and a PM 8500.
