I did it the same way as before: I copied the installer CD-ROM to a 
separate partition, then removed all SCSI drives and PCI cards 
(except the Villagetronic video card) and started up from the 
aforementioned partition with the help of a patched version of 
XPostFacto (available at www.zone6400.com). Again, the installation 
process was trouble-free as can be.

Thank you Will S and Robyn for your suggestions concerning 
Xlr8yourmac. I had a look into the FAQ on CDRW, and indeed there are 
obviously a lot of people having problems with their CDRW as I have. 
Unfortunately, no-one seems to know a solution to remedy this 
situation. So, if anybody has a clue, I am still eager to hear about 
it.
