Luis, I'm not sure this will fix the OSX problem but it may. I too am using a GV 56K USB modem but not yet updated to X. There are some rom updaters on the Global Village site. The latest one I have used is 'USB TelePort Modem v1.2.hqx', but after a quick look, it looks like there may even be a newer update depending on your model.
