The UMAX inputs us an automatica gain control [AGC] by default. If memory
serves, Coaster can override this so that you can set an appropriate gain.
This could be desirable because otherwise the AGC will increase the gain
between tracks, making any noise more noticeable and making it more
difficult to detect the gaps.
