Hello again

I decided I should finally post some info as promised, on my networking.

We went with the Linksys all the way. Mainly since we were able to
purchase locally. In case we needed to return it, if it didn't go the
distance we needed. We live in a very small town with no Best Buys,
Comp USA's etc. & for the same reason we didn't want to order on the Web,
this time.

Well it works Great!
To refresh: My hub is on PC, I'm of course, am on the MAC.

For the Router, we went with the Linksys BEFW11S4
(Wireless Access Point Router with 4-port Switch- Version 2) 2.4Ghz & 802.11b
It works with the MAC w/out any drivers or anything.
So for my Hub/PC, he got the WMP11(Instant Wireless PCI Card) for his desktop.
And I got the WET11(Wireless Ethernet Bridge) for my desktop s900Umax.

Shortly we will be adding the WPC11 (Instant Wireless network Adapter V.3.0)
for my Hub's laptop. & I'm not sure yet what I will get for my PowerBook.

At this point, we have not Networked anything- other than the WIFI
High Speed internet.
No printers scanners etc. So I can't tell you how that works.
But as it is, we have had NO problems! And at the start, during the
setting up of the network, We had questions & Linksys was very helpful!

And since getting the High Speed internet, & upgrading my s900 to
the G4/400, I have switched to Netscape 7. It is still a little slow
starting up & opening email, but it's definitely faster than it was with
s900/250 & dialup.

*At this point, we are still using our dialup service for emails, due to
business contacts. Doing that, we both (MAC 7 PC) occasionally get a
"5.7.1 Relaying Denied" error, with some emails we try to send out.
Anyone have a clue?

Thanks to everyone for all the info you gave on the networking subject! :-)
Later, Kim
