Yes, but only because I used to work for that company, too.

The product was released and discontinued very quickly (probably in about
1992) due to a nasty, never-fixed bug which could permanently ruin the SCSI
HD of the PowerBook to which it was attacked. Whoops -- Fruedian slip -- I
meant "attached," but the result did make one feel somehow attacked.

The bug was observed once before shipment in the SuperMac video test lab,
but the tester, Loren Luke, could never recreate it. SuperMac Marketing
decided to ship he product anyway. Shortly after they did so, the user
complaints (and threats of legal action) started coming in. The product
died a quick, shameful death, and thousands of them were literally dumped
into landfills. Radius had a similar product in the same timeframe, called
the PowerView, I think, which did not suffer from this problem.

(Interestingly, Loren was also directly involved in the urban tech legend
about the government of Trinidad being overthrown because someone couldn't
get around the password of SuperMac's security software, Sentinel. The
legend is strongly based on fact, but the exagerated version that has been
circulating on the net for years -- as well as a lengthy refutation of it on
an anti-hoax site somewhere -- are both riddled with innacuracies and
misstatements.)

No connection whatsoever to the SuperMac computers, other than the name.

End of history lesson. Hope it's been informative.
