In regard to the following, and the exasperation of some List members-- >thank you to all the mac users for not understanding and just bashing without reason
>it really shows what types of people are on this list >off >Jamaal stewart Despite the tinge of flame in this discussion, still clinging to my two S-900's, listening to my son who has a G-4, mouth watering at the G-5, I do want to know the real benefits of springing for these new machines and particularly the differences between the bottom line, and the next step. My gon who got his G-4 before the AGP video went in, was frustrated at not being able to upgrade with one of those cards. So I welcome the details in the back and forth. Does anyone on the list, by the way, have experience of trying to install any of the versions of OS 10 on a firewire drive and then trying to boot a G-4 from it? My son tried to do this for me so I could fiddle with OS 10 on my daughter's G-4, which is running OS 9.1 (she's left her machine at home for the summer). For some reason the Install disk did not recognize the firewire drive. Has anyone run a version of OS 10 from a firewire drive on an S-900. In any event, I look forward to the real world tests of what the G-5 does with Photoshop and I-movie and how those serial ATA drives perform.
