Just finishing an overhaul of my S900/233 for my son to use: 416M RAM, Radius 21" Pressview, 3 internal drives (1-WDE 4.2G, 1-Seagate Cheetah 4.2G 10,000RPM, 1-Cheetah 9.1G 10,000 RPM drive (partitioned into 3 drives)... running 9.2.2 (old world support) on main drive, 9.1, 8.6, and 7.6.1 on the others... Conflict Catcher (latest - and last, I believe? - version), Norton Systemworks 2, Photoshop 7.0, Illustrator 9.0, Quark 4.1.2, etc....
Replaced original CD-ROM drive w/Matsushita unit, new PRAM battery, reset the CUDA, and I believe by removing the Visioneer PaperPort Vx extensions, I've solved the crashing finder issue, but here's my question...
When restarting, a warning box appears with this text:
"The application " " has unexpectedly quit, because an update to this software is required for compatibility with the improved Mac OS file system. You should save your work in other open applications and restart the computer"
This repeated several times, and just now, the message changed from a blank space between the two quotes " " to now include the words "~ATM"! Could an upgrade to Adobe Type Manager b e in order (current version ATM Deluxe 4.0)??? What else might send such a message, with no application identified???
Thanks - as usual - for all your invaluable assistance!
