Hello all, I have am Adaptec AHA2940/2940U+ scsi card that I am trying to make work in my S900 clone. Have tried a variety of slot and does not show anywhere (ie with SCSI probe). Will this card work in this machine? Do I require drivers? If so, which?
It sounds like you have the PC version of the card. It needs a firmware update. Track down the PowerDomain 4.1 firmware update for the Mac and try flashing the card. Keep in mind that if this goes wrong it could render the card useless on both the Mac and the PC.
Also, is this a 2940U or a 2940UW card? I.e., does it have the 68 pin SCSI connectors or are they all 50 pin. There was no 2940U card for the Mac. However, the 2940UW does have 2940U silkscreened on the PCB.
