Personally, I think there are more benefits than just the OS X
compatibility. 9.2 is definitely faster, the Finder is more responsive. And
some applications require MacOS 9.2, e.g. FCP, some games.
With os9helper, installation is really easy - two clicks more than the
normal update, and it works flawlessly. I use 9.2.2 as my main system for
almost 2 years now and would never go back to 9.1
Try it on a 2nd drive or partition and see how it works for you.
