Your VST UltraTek PCI card may not be OS X compatible. If it is PCI/33 or
PCI/66 it is not.
I once had a question for UltraTek support and they said since the card was
designed for Blue and White G3s and later, they couldn't tell me anything
about it on an S900. However, they did say they had no plans to make it OS X
compatible. That was over 2 years ago and concerned the PCI/33.
HOWEVER, OWC has a page of VSTPCI/66 firmware you can download for free at
http://eshop.macsales.com/VST/
FirmTek's (the owners of the VST Ultratek brand) download page says their
software is currently unavailable, so identify your card and try OWC's page.
If you find that OWC's page will not solve your problem, you will probably
have to replace the VST with the similar Sonnet card, the Tempo ATA133.
While it is around $100, it is, at least, not the cost of a new computer.
And it will work with OS X.
That's the limit of my knowledge on the subject.
