Well it seems that I was right and the CD Drive needed replacing. Luckily I
happened to find a replacement in my spare parts. Now I got some questions.
When I boot up I get an error message saying that It does not need to replace
the CD driver and that there is already on in place... I get that this is from
me trying to replace the driver to get the dead CD drive working but how do I
now fix this to get the error msg to stop coming up?

Also this computer does not have a modem or a network card. Can someone suggest
one to me that would work. I am mostly interested in a network card but would
take suggestions on either.

Also I am having trouble getting new software on this machine. I can put
software on a PC formatted disk and put it in the C600 and it reads it alright
and even opens HQX files but is not able to open up the SIT files inside them...
Says that it could not find Stuffit and could not find a translation extension
with appropriate translators. ???? The copies of stuffit I can find online are
too big to put on disk except if I burnt them to CD or something.... and they
do not run under 7.6 anyway. What should I do?

The only software I have been able to install was Quicktime which was on a CD I
had. This has allowed me to play some MPG movies and mp3s which is an
improvement though. Could anyone send me a copy of the original "Restore" CD
for this machine? Should I try to upgrade the OS?

I have heard about folks putting a Radeon 7000 card into the C600. If I were to
do this should I upgrade the operating system first? I am going to see if I can
upgrade the memory in the system too. Gotta see what spare parts I can get
together though.

Also what are some "killer apps" for this machine? I have been working with PCs
for years but only have worked with Macs a little. I am interested in what you
people use on your systems. Thanks for all your help. I have learned a good bit
from just "listening" to the listserve.
