I have Jaguar running nicely on my S900/G3 450. I recently acquired a Promise Ultra ATA/66 controller. I connected a 6GB drive and Initialized it in OS9 using Intech's Hard Disk Speedtools. Although the card shows up in OSX ASP (as UltraTek-66), the drive doesn't appear anywhere, and Disk Utilities can't seem to find it. How can I format and use this drive under X? Thanks,

Charles

Now if this is a PC Promise card forget it! VST Mac card made by Promise is another story and should work fine.
It needs to be in PCI slot 1 or 2 ( starting at the top of the S900). You also need to formate the card in OS 9.x and not OSX. While Intech's hard disk Speedtools may well work fine I recommend using Apples drive setup if at all possible for OSX use. Also make sure the jumper pins on the drive are set as Master or cable select works for me. best of luck. Will S
