Hi Bill, Sorry for getting in here so late, been working on some problems of my own. But, the problem you are referring to might be like the problem on the s900 when installing G3/G4. I am one of those "lucky" people. On the s900 you might not get a start-up chime after installing the G3/G4. Another thought, if you are on Os 9.1 (sorry I didn't see what OS you are one) & use the outdated "suitcase 3.0" Font manageing software, you will loose sound.
