Hi Eric-

Lots of us are running the S900 with maximum RAM with no problems. There were some 
issues with bad RAM being sold and it took some patience with the supplier and an 
investing of time to test and find the bad sticks. I think most of us went through 
that successfully (cursing and stomping). RAM is everything! As much as you can afford 
is what you should get... especially if you're working with any apps that deal with 
large images, video, sound. If you are just doing word processing, email, those kinds 
of things, then you might have enough. If you're planning to upgrade to Jaguar, then 
get more. Things run faster and better when you have enough memory and apply more 
memory usage to various apps. So, (long windedly) there are advantages to more RAM and 
I would say, as long as the RAM is good, the only disadvantage is to your wallet.
