Good or bad. I'm > thinking of giving it a try while the Zif's are still available for a > reasonable price. The G800's are gone it seems but they now have G 900 > MHz for $249.00 Will S Hi Will, Well took a shot at getting the Power Logix 800 Mhz chip working . Tried it in three machines and it appears that the chip had been zapped by the individual that sent it to me. We were not sure of its condition and it was a gamble that he and I were willing to take. I am going to continue running with my 400 Mhz G3 IBM 750 10X that I have in a XLR8 carrier which I have. I have it running at 500 Mhz with no problems. I did have some big headaches with some ram that I bought on eBay however. It seems it works fine in a Power Computing Power Tower but it created havoc when I loaded it into my S 900. It screwed up my Western Digital 80 GB HD and had to reformat. On top of which I ran into some problems with the SCSI hard drives. Right now I have the two SCSI hard drives ( IBM 4.2 & Seagate Cuda 18 GB ) running off of a Adaptec 2930 card that I updated in slot 3. Now the PCI line up looks like this Sonnet ( UltraTek) ATA100 IMS Twin Turbo 128 Adaptec 2930 Ahard (AEC 6260 M) ATA66 empty Keystone USB 2 Port I am thinking that I will make #1 machine above a total ATA HD machine and move the SCSI HD's to S 900 #2 machine and run that one solely on SCSI Drives. I have upgraded #2 with a XLR8 carrier and a G3 300 Mhz that runs at 350 Mhz. I am also getting prepared to go up to Jaguar as soon as I get some more ram. I would like to have at least 784 MB of Ram before making that move, currently have 400 MB. Richard B. -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
