This is slightly off topic but this is my only list.
The list may remember that I was trying to set up an ethernet connection
between machines S-900's and Wall Streets. In the midst of this, an old
7300 that my son brought home which I was trying to connect and was working
fine before, suddenly began to have extension problems. At first it would
boot with extensions off. Disk Warrior and Disk First Aid showed no
problems. Then I tried Norton and it stalled in the middle of a media
check. When I tried to restart, it would no longer boot with extensions
off. I could boot from a CD but not the hard drive. (I foolishly then tried
to put the system drive from Disk Warrior on the hard drive.) Attempts to
wipe the hard drive and reinstall 9.1 were fruitless. Tech tool reported no
problems with the volume structure but Disk First Aid and Disk Warrior
could do nothing I reinitialized it. I low formatted it. It showed up fine,
and could receive files, but it could not be checked with Norton, which
stalled, or Disk First Aid which complained about not being able to read
it, or Disk Warrior which now drew a complete blank and stalled before
anything could happen. Is the drive simply wasted? Or is some other gremlin
at the heart of this?
