Thanks Richard. Unfortunately, none of the updates (Adapter card support,
CarbonLib, or USB Support 1.5.5) seem to change the behaviour.

At the moment I'm pinning my hopes on the memory stick reader - it seems
like it's closest to being recognized by the system (if I could just find
drivers I think I'd be there). Does anybody know where to find eUSB card
reader drivers?

Ian

In order to use a USB card in any of the Old World machines properly you
need to download the following items and install them.

USB Card Support 1.4.1.smi
CarbonLib 1.6.smi

and you also could use the following item

USB Support 1.5.5 which comes with the 9.2.2 OS.

I started using a Keyspan USB 2 Port card on my C600 and used it with a
USB Mouse and Scanner without problems. When I got my two S900's I found
that the Keyspan card worked best in the bottom PCI slot #6 on the #1
machine in OS 9.1. I bought a USB/Firewire card on eBay cheap and used
that in machine #2 in PCI Slot #1 (A).

Now having successfully installed Jaguar on my #1 Machine I had to move
the USB card to Slot #1 (A) and all of my USB items work (printer,
mouse, scanner). I would also suggest a ram increase in your J700 as OS
9.1 just barely works with just 64 mb of ram and could be part of your
problem.
I might suggest a ram install of 2 128 mb chips and another 64 mb to
bring the machine up to 400 mb and then using OS 9 Helper take and
upgrade to 9.2.2 which may improve the support for USB camera input. As
I said I have not tried a digital camera input as I don't own one at
present.

Hope some of this information is helpful.
