Haven't been following this thread closely -

Regarding SCSI cards, my experience has been with the Adaptec 2930, which was
installed in a B&W
and a Sawtooth to provide 'basic' SCSI connectivity for old peripherals.
The 2930 in the Sawtooth has been moved to a Quicksilver, which is running 9.2.

In all cases it was plug-n-play with nothing else to install.
This, ofcourse, was before X came along.
If anyone has any feedback on this...
