In case someone on this fine List is already doing so (and I am too lazy
to read up on this;)
I have a s900 running 9.1 and connected to a 4-port DSL router. Is another machine added to the router also on a network visible in the Chooser ? What if it is running X ?
Thanks for any thoughts.
Alan
A quick answer without many details. Yes any machine hooked to the router can be seen in OSX. All you need to do is turn on file sharing on the machine you want to see in OSX. When in the finder in OSX ..the Go menus at the top high light connect to server and within seconds you have the drive on the OSX desktop. You can use just like the files are on your hard drive. This also works with Windows machines. It really is just that easy starting in OSX jaguar 10.2 and higher amazing how well it works. To see OSX or perhaps windows on the Mac OS 9 machine is much more work and involves software like Dave and another more hard to use and name escapes me .Also requires Ethernet cables between machines rather than using the router ethernet connections I believe.
