This is a resend since I have not seen it go by on the digests. Very sorry
if there's a duplication somewhere...

Hi there: Okay, I have put in a bid for a drive on eBay, and I have read the
responses so far to my initial question. (If the eBay drive goes beyond my
bid I have a fallback of a drive listed on the swap list.) Here's my plan
from that point on:

1) Move everything on old drive to backups. I have about ten 100mb ZIP discs
that I plan to use, plus an external 700 mb HD. I think I'll put the entire
system folder in one place and the rest as they fit on ZIP discs.
2) Remove old drive.
3) Install new one.
4) Boot from CD and format new drive for Mac.
5) Replace folders on new drive.
6) Reboot from there and with any luck have a smiling face on screen.
7) Install new-to-me Rage 128 video card.

Am I going the right way? Forgetting anything? Hopelessly ignorant? As
always I appreciate whatever folks tell me, even the behind-the-hand
chuckles.
