I knew it was too good to be true. Everything has gone fine in my quest to
install a new HD in my poor old C500, until now. I backed everything up. I
removed the top. I expected to see four screws holding the drive in place,
per someone or other. I actually saw only one, but that's OK because in my
personal archives a couple of people said there was just one, securing the
sled. So I removed that screw. I removed the power plug from the drive. I
could not remove the SCSI cable due to cramped conditions but figured I
could do that after lifting the drive out.

Well, guess what: the drive wouldn't budge.

I took the front panel off and removed the single screw securing the CD
drive since someone mentioned you have to remove the CD drive to replace the
HD.

Still nothing. Would-not-move-at-all.

I am very very reluctant to force anything but I did use a good deal of
muscle power, thinking that it was just stuck in place after 6 1/2 years on
my desk. Nada. Feels to me like there's more securing the drive or sled but
I can't tell what. No way to slide the sled forward or back (back panel in
the way in the back, and for both directions there seem to be various tabs
holding things down). With that front CD screw out the sled would lift up a
bit on one side but nothing more.

Sorry to be so dense. What do I do? AAAAUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
