Well. It's done. I got lots of offers of help: suggestions, emailing me
documents, even phone support, and I sure do appreciate them all. I got a
lever (actually a wooden shim from some remodeling) and a virtual place to
stand, and I managed to move the world. Or at least my old HD. So it's out,
the new one's in, formatted, and running happily. Certain details seem to
have gone astray, like the desktop aliases and which Outlook identity backup
I made, but I think it's all minor.

One thing I'm not certain of. I planned to go with HFS+ but I dunno if I
actually did so or not. I thought the Apple System Profiler would say but it
doesn't seem to. I chose "extended" format when offered the choice...is HFS+
what I got?

Time for me to go open some champagne to celebrate.
